Eclectic Massage

Eclectic Massage is a therapeutic massage based on Swedish with a fusion of many modalities.  This is a staple if you are looking for overall relaxation spiced with various styles that briefly address issues found in the body, then gently returning to relaxation.  Great for a first-time massage experience since it encompasses the best of all worlds when you want to relax and also receive bodywork to sore or nagging muscles.

Spinal Touch Treatment

Spinal Touch Treatment is an amazing technique for the correction of chronic and acute pain. It is a soft tissue, non-force system for the detection and correction of postural and visceral distortions.  Its benefits are numerous.  It is chiropractic in nature and safely and gently realigns the complete spine with no force or strain on the body.

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage is the most common & recognized massage taught and used in the U.S.  It is very relaxing and great for a first-time massage experience.  While it is marvelous for relaxing the entire body, Swedish goes beyond and is very healthy for us, it is beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in our blood, decreases myotoxins, improves circulation, increases flexibility, and relieves tensions, and reduces stress hormone cortisol.  It is known for its effleurage, petrissage, tapotement, and compression.  It is a wonderful massage for almost everyone.  Draping for Swedish & Eclectic allows the immediate area being worked on to be undraped then redraped when work is done.  So these are both very comfortable and recommended massages for new ones.

Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphatic drainage is a very healing therapeutic massage treatment. The massage uses very light pressure and long, gentle, rhythmic strokes to increase the flow of lymph and reduce toxins in your body.

Duffield Systems- (I) D.S. Emotion Work (II) D.S. BodyWork

This is our advanced version very similar to the outstanding modalities Body Code, Emotion Code & Touch for Health.  It is an amazing system for mental, emotional, and physical healing.  It uses applied kinesiology to tap into the mind and body to release emotions and locate imbalances and issues in the body.  This holistic approach has amazing healing benefits for the entire body, mind & spirit.

(I)  D.S. EMOTION WORK- focuses on locating and removing hidden, underlying, and trapped emotions that affect the body & mind.  These can be inherited or from anytime in our lives.

(II)  D.S. BODYWORK-  Focuses on finding and aiding imbalances and issues in the body.  This leads to physical healing.

Coeur d' Alene Style (Esalen style Massage)

This is our version of the famous Esalen style massage.  They say true Esalen can only be done in Big Sur, so the Coeur d’ Alene Style is for the Pacific Northwest.  Esalen style Massage,  is well-known for its slow long flowing strokes over the whole body, helps release the stresses of everyday life, leaving the receiver feeling whole, integrated and deeply relaxed, in a natural state of well-being. The Esalen style massage is best described as the interface and integration of form, energy, structure, and soul. With its nurturing contact, integrating strokes, and detailed attention to the whole body, an Esalen style massage provides a state of deep relaxation and healing.  This is not for the first timer or for someone not comfortable with their body due to its very light draping.  For those uncomfortable with their bodies you can try a version of this by opting for Fusion Massage (see below) there you would choose Swedish combined with Esalen style.  It will provide a similar limited Esalen style feel without the long full effleurages but with similar draping of Swedish.

Acutherapy Treatment

Acutherapy is a gentle, painless touch therapy designed to relieve tension and muscle spasm without rubbing or massaging tissue.   Acutherapy is based on the theories and discoveries of a number of well-known pioneers in the field of reflex work, applied kinesiology, and polarity.  Although based on some of the principles of acupressure, Acutherapy is different in that there are few specific points relative to acupunctures meridians used in Eastern Techniques.  Acutherapy was developed because of the specific need to be able to effectively touch the body and relieve pain and suffering when any more than the gentlest of touch is contraindicated.  The principle of the touch lies in where the touch is applied and the use of internal energy flows that release tensions in even the smallest nerve and capillary structures within the injured tissue.  Can be used in specific therapeutic instances such as frozen shoulder, headache pain, low back pain, pelvic pain due to muscle spasm, and many other complaints.

Heart Barrier or Wall Removal

Our version is very similar to  Dr. Bradley Nelson’s incredible Emotion Code’s-” Heart Walls”.  As we experience sadness, grief, loss, betrayal, breakups, divorce, fears, and other negative things in life, we may begin to build unseen energy barriers around our hearts to protect them.  This barrier can affect every aspect of life and leads to many difficulties and misunderstandings in our personal relationships and dealing with others.  It can block us off from finding love, success, and …..    We use a method to find if a heart barrier exists and if so to remove the protective layers that keep us from finding true joy and happiness……

Emotional Release

This emotional release is different from the Duffield Systems- Emotion Work in that it is done hands-on while laying on the table.  Its release is actually felt by the body.  It is a combination of Polarity, Acutherapy, and other eclectic unwinding techniques to help the body release stored emotions in the muscles. These stored muscle memories can be caused by emotional or traumatic events in one’s life. This usually will be followed by an Energy Balance. There is no guarantee what if anything will be released since it is completely individual as to how the body will respond and if the person feels safe and ready to release. The release can be in many forms such as minor weeping, sobbing, laughter, to anger, it can be internal to very physical. It all depends on the body’s readiness and trust with the facilitator. It cannot be forced. It is best to relax and go into it with no expectations or pressure to release, just enjoy and let whatever take place.  In most cases, we would recommend The Duffield Systems- Emotion Work since it is almost guaranteed to release and it is not necessarily felt by the body except for feeling better and maybe even a little lighter.  The Duffield Systems- Emotion Work is quite fast, and most would be better off using it (see it above).  This Emotional Release is really for someone who wants to experience the emotion as it is removed to help the body heal itself mentally, emotionally, and physically.

Polarity Therapy

Polarity Therapy a healing approach to restoring energetic balance to the mind and body.  It was developed by Dr. Randolph Stone, D.C., D.O, N.D. A chiropractor, osteopathic physician, and naturopath, Stone combined his knowledge of Western structural manipulative methods with insights into energetic aspects of healing gained firsthand through the study of healing practices around the world.

Fusion Massage

Fusion Massage is the integration or the combining of any two or more modalities of choice.  For example, you could choose to combine Swedish Massage with Polarity or Tuina with Neuromuscular Facilitation.. or Lymphatic with Myofascial… Or Cupping with Acutherapy…etc.

Nurturing Massage

In recent years, a wave of studies has documented some incredible emotional and physical health benefits that come from touch. This research is suggesting that touch is truly fundamental to human communication, bonding, and health.  Safe nurturing touch is something all of us need.  Especially in a world of divorce, singleness, lack of attention, a culture that is afraid to touch each other, and feelings of being alone.  We can feel all alone in the world even though we are surrounded by people.  Dogs and cats seem to get more touch than we as humans.  Since safe nurturing touch is vital to human physical and emotional health, nurturing massage is a wonderful option to help fill that need.  Nurturing Massage is long flowing strokes over the whole body, helps release the stresses of everyday life, leaving the receiver feeling whole, integrated, and deeply relaxed, in a natural state of well-being. The Nurturing Massage is best described as the interface and integration of form, energy, structure, and soul. With its nurturing contact, integrating strokes, and detailed attention to the whole body, Nurturing Massage provides a state of deep relaxation and healing.  This is not a massage for first-timers or those uncomfortable with their body due to light draping.  For those uncomfortable with their bodies you can try a version of this by opting for Fusion Massage (see above) there you would choose Swedish combined with Nurturing.  It won’t have the long effleurage but it will provide a limited nurturing feel with the draping similar to Swedish.

Prenatal Massage

Prenatal Massage is a technique designed specifically for pregnant women, taking into account contraindications and the use of precautionary movements.  Depending on your size and the way you carry your baby, we will use the Prego Pillow or Side-lying position, whichever is better for you.

Please Note:  There is a theory that massage should not be done in the first trimester due to the risk of miscarriage.  There are thoughts for and against this theory.  For massage therapists not trained in prenatal massage, it would be best to an error on the side of caution and follow your training to NOT do this massage.   We are trained in prenatal massage and follow extra safety protocol.  While in most cases with our training we feel comfortable doing massage work in the first trimester we too will error on the side of caution.  Meaning:   #1. We will require your doctor’s written approval to receive a prenatal massage, especially during the 1st-trimester.  #2. We reserve the right to refuse first, second, third trimester, and postnatal massage for any reason, even if it is just based on intuition.   #3. We won’t do massage if you are a high-risk pregnancy.  #4.  We will use special positioning, avoid certain areas and points, not do certain techniques nor do any deep tissue nor pelvic massage.   #5. You sign a consent form, which includes that you have done the research and feel comfortable on receiving 1st-trimester massage and that you are aware of the no first-trimester massage theory and the reasons or fears the theory is based on.  Please understand and not be upset if we feel there is a reason we shouldn’t do the massage.  Thank you.

Postnatal Massage

Postnatal massage can be as important and beneficial as prenatal massage. Postnatal bodywork is an effective and holistic approach for the many adjustments to motherhood.  Postnatal massage has been shown to be effective for a quicker recovery and better health. Integration of maternal bodywork may add welcome value to your healing journey and transition to motherhood.  You may start receiving postnatal massages as soon as you feel comfortable. You will be positioned comfortably on Body Cushions for consideration to breast and abdominal soreness. If you have maternal complications, first consult with your medical provider.

Reflexology

Reflexology is the technique of manipulating the feet, and or hands, to improve circulation, ease pain, and increase relaxation in the body.  It is based on the theory that all body parts, organs, and glands are associated with specific areas, called reflex zones, in the hands and feet.  By manipulating the associated zone, changes can be affected in the corresponding body part.  For this reason, reflexology is sometimes called zone therapy.
